Seniors rocked it last night

Last night I was at the Greatest Variety Show for seniors. There was a diverse range of acts, I especially liked the comedian Edith who had the crowd in stitches with her no nonsense approach to ageing. She talked about sex (or lack off it) bowel movements  and the benefits of adding a liner to your incontinence pads, so you could have the extra cup of coffee when you’re out for the day.

During the second half of the show the dance floor was full with great music from Dr Rock. It was interesting to observe a much younger attitude in seniors now. I was talking to Lindsay Doig from Life Activities Clubs and he said their membership is increasing with people transitioning from work to retirement but still wanting interesting activities to do. Retirement sounds negative, a bit like you are winding down, yet the opposite seems to be true of today’s seniors, they are winding-up.

Seniors rock the floor
